HSDC is seeking a Lecturer/Teacher of Criminology across Health and Science and Adult Learning to ensure outstanding success and progression through the delivery of inspirational teaching, learning and assessment. The successful applicant will be required to deliver across the following provisions:
- Health and Science Level 2 Criminology - Aspects of Crime, Crime and Social Groups, Criminal Justice System
- Level 3 Applied Science (Forensics) - Applications of Criminology
Responsibilities include:
- Planning effectively and delivering high quality teaching, learning, assessment and support, leading to excellent attendance, retention and achievement.
- Delivering formal scheduled teaching duties and student assessment.
- Recording, sharing and regularly monitoring student progress using College information systems.
- Preparing learning plans, schemes of work, keeping relevant records and undertaking all administration relevant to teaching duties.
- Attending parents' evenings, marketing and promotional events.
Qualifications required:
- Level 5 or equivalent Teaching Qualification such as Certificate in Education or PGCE or willingness to work towards this.
- High level of specialist knowledge of the subject area.
- At least 2 years' experience in teaching the subject area to full-time or part-time students (Desirable).
- Degree in relevant subject (Desirable).
