The predicted salary is between 18900 - 23100 £ per year.
Hours - 0.36 FTE available. An additional £2000 market supplement will be paid (pro-rated as necessary).
HSDC is seeking a Lecturer/Teacher of Design and Technology to ensure outstanding success and progression through the delivery of inspirational teaching, learning and assessment. This opportunity will suit someone with a passion for both the subject and for student success. The postholder must be self-motivated and innovative, with the ability to inspire our students.
An AQA A Level Design and Technology Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching that enables students to develop advanced knowledge, technical understanding, and practical skills in Product Design. The role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons that align with the AQA Design and Technology specification, preparing students for both written examinations and the Non-Exam Assessment (NEA).
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning effectively and delivering high quality teaching, learning, assessment and support, leading to excellent attendance, retention and achievement.
- Delivering formal scheduled teaching duties, tutorials (as appropriate) and student assessment.
- Recording, sharing and regularly monitoring student progress using College information systems.
- Preparing learning plans, schemes of work, keeping relevant records and undertaking all administration relevant to teaching duties.
- Attending parents’ evenings, marketing and promotional events.
Requirements:
- Level 5 or equivalent Teaching Qualification such as Certificate in Education or PGCE or willingness to work towards this.
- High level of specialist knowledge of the subject area.
- At least 2 years’ experience in teaching the subject area to full-time or part-time students (Desirable).
- Degree in relevant subject (Desirable).
