We have an exciting new opportunity to join a busy multi‑disciplinary coastal and flood engineering team, managing flood and erosion risk on the south coast. Coastal Partners provides a Coastal Risk Management Service to local authorities, improving community resilience and enhancing the natural environment in response to flooding and coastal erosion risks. This area includes three major harbours of significant environmental importance and over 246km of coastline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of beach management plans and coordinate all beach management activities across partner authorities.
  • Oversee delivery programmes, prepare and submit funding applications, and ensure compliance with environmental constraints.
  • Manage budgets over multiple years and produce reporting for project and programme levels to stakeholders.
  • Apply grant funding processes, procurement strategies and NEC4 contract management.
  • Develop consistent project‑management processes.
  • Supervise and develop small teams, motivate and support team members, and provide clear communications and engagement plans.
  • Act as Project Manager for capital and revenue projects, delivering through contractors and consultants.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Water and Coastal Management or a related discipline.
  • Experience or interest in grant funding, budget management, and NEC4 contract management.
  • Experience leading and developing small teams and supervising junior staff.
  • Strong appreciation of coastal monitoring surveys and coastal processes research.
  • Ability to drive, work outdoors on site and blend office and home work.
