About the Role
HSDC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Programme Leader – Adults to support the Head of Faculty in delivering outstanding adult education provision. In this key leadership role, you will manage course teams, drive quality improvement, and ensure strong student outcomes across designated programmes. You’ll play a hands-on role in shaping curriculum delivery, supporting staff development, and leading on key quality assurance processes—all while maintaining your own teaching commitment (0.4 FTE). Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- To support the Head of Faculty in delivering high quality teaching, learning and assessment throughout designated areas of provision which meet the needs of the community, employers, develops students’ employability skills and enables progression.
- To lead on the management of course teams, outcomes and value added throughout designated areas of provision.
- To support the Head of Faculty in conducting performance development reviews for teaching and support staff throughout designated areas of provision.
- To lead on developing advanced pedagogy with course teams and to support these teams in developing inspirational and effective learning environments and resources.
- To work with MIS, exams and the delivery team to ensure they have accurate information regarding the programme of study to facilitate registration of learners and entering them for exams.
- To support the Head of Faculty in conducting observations of teaching staff and lead improvements or dissemination of good teaching, learning and assessment practices.
Requirements
You will need:
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent professional qualification or holding significant relevant industry experience
- Teaching qualification such as CertEd, PGCE, BA (hons) in Education
- Leadership and Management Training
- Strong knowledge of the characteristics of outstanding teaching, learning and assessment and how this can be achieved
- Experience of using and analysing management information to drive improvements
