Job Title: College Library Support

Department: Learning Hub

Campus: Alton

Salary: Grade 3 Spine Point 11 – £24,299.61 (actual salary: £21,180.38)

Contract Type: 37 Hours / 38 weeks

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and tech-savvy Learning Hub Advisor to join our team at HSDC. This is a key support role focused on creating a dynamic, welcoming, and digitally driven environment that helps students and staff make the most of our learning resources. You’ll assist with day-to-day operations, provide guidance on digital tools and study support, and ensure that IT-related queries are resolved efficiently. With a strong customer service mindset and a passion for learning, you’ll help shape a modern resource hub that reflects the evolving needs of our college community.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensure the Learning Hub meets the needs of students and staff with an enhanced focus on digital learning
  • Ensure the IT enquiries raised by staff and students are addressed in a timely and effective manner
  • Maintain and develop the use of booking systems to maximise the use of the Learning Hub resources and computers
  • Support and supervise students and staff in the Learning Hub to ensure an environment conducive to learning. Challenging inappropriate behaviour as necessary and using reporting systems to support any concerns or issues arising.
  • Develop resources by liaising with teaching staff and the digital creation suite to ensure that students are supported to use a range of strategies to enhance their learning.
  • Deliver Learning Hub inductions including a focus on software to support learning to groups of students

Requirements

You will need:

  • Good general education to include Maths and English to GCSE Grade C or equivalent
  • IT qualification or the willingness to undertake
  • Experience of working in a customer facing role
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team
