Hauser & Wirth Publishers are seeking an experienced Sales Manager (maternity cover, 3 days/week) to oversee the delivery of title data, sales materials, and distributor relationships across our publishing programme. This is a part-time role requiring strong organisational skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely title information is delivered to distributors, supporting sales performance and maintaining high-quality publishing data across all channels. The position will suit someone able to work as part of an international team willing to use their initiative, with exceptional communication and organisation skills, and an ability to work well under pressure.

Key responsibilities
  • Title data management: Compile and deliver new title information to distributors.
  • Maintain and update the internal publishing database with the latest title information and assets.
  • Send regular updates to distributors and colleagues on pricing, metadata, and asset changes.
  • Review distributor catalogue proofs for accuracy.
  • Publishing Assets & Sales Materials: Create Advance Information (AI) sheets for internal and external use.
  • Commission and brief copywriters to produce marketing copy, providing clear commercially driven direction for the text.
  • Actively work with editors for updated materials and ensure prompt distribution to key partners.
  • Produce and deliver sales presentations to external sales teams.
  • Lead the concept, coordination, and production of seasonal sales catalogue.
  • Sales operations & reporting: Manage outreach, sales, and invoicing for all wholesale book orders.
  • Monitor distributor inventory levels and sales reports; coordinating stock replenishment as required.
  • Collate and integrate external/distributor sales data into internal reporting.
  • Distributor relationship management: Act as a key point of contact for distributors, handling queries on pricing, promotions, and title information.
  • Support promotional activity and sales opportunities with distributors.
  • Represent the company at book fairs as required.
Skills/Competencies Required
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in the publishing sector in a sales or distribution management capacity.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to analyse sales data, forecast demand, and identify revenue growth opportunities.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint and Power BI.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage data across multiple sources.
  • Understanding of global book market dynamics and retail channels.
  • Proactive problem-solver comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Willingness to travel to Hauser & Wirth locations and bookfairs when required.
