This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced architect with a flair for coordination, project oversight and design delivery — particularly on large-scale, complex schemes.

As Design Manager, you’ll be embedded within a flagship project, leading on the coordination and development of design throughout its lifecycle. You’ll also lend your expertise across several key projects in the studio, supporting teams with programming, resourcing, fee management and client liaison. While the focus is on the healthcare sector, prior experience in this area is not essential — your ability to manage, communicate and deliver is what counts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the design development process across multiple project stages.
  • Coordinate and track design team inputs to meet programme and budget targets.
  • Take ownership of project programming, planning and commercial monitoring.
  • Maintain and nurture strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact.
  • Oversee key practice-wide projects, ensuring consistency and quality across deliverables.
  • Monitor scope, schedule, and fees, assisting in negotiation and contract management.
  • Support the smooth delivery of design information across disciplines, with a focus on collaboration and clarity.
About You:
  • A qualified Architect with at least 3+ years of design management experience.
  • Proven track record working on large-scale, complex projects within the UK.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong time management and organisation skills.
  • Confident communicator who thrives in a collaborative team environment.
  • Comfortable with client-facing responsibilities and managing fee proposals and contracts.
  • Experience with InDesign and broader Adobe Creative Suite is desirable.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector is a bonus, but not essential.
