Our rapidly expanding engineering client are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee its supply chain function. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for supplier management, stores management, cost savings, and stock management. They will also play an integral role in implementing a new MRP system and will be expected to work with the team to develop standard operating procedures to ensure that the supply chain function will be operating efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Overall responsibility for the supply chain function including supplier management, stores management, cost savings, and stock management Develop and implement supply chain strategies to meet business objectives Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of materials and products to meet production schedules Negotiate contracts with suppliers and ensure that they are compliant with company policies and procedures Identify cost-saving opportunities within the supply chain function and implement solutions Work with the team to develop standard operating procedures to ensure that the supply chain function will be operating efficiently Manage inventory levels to ensure that stock levels are optimized Play a leading role in the implementation and management of an MRP system Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers Ensure that quality standards are met and maintained within the supply chain function Collaborate with other departments to ensure that the supply chain function supports overall business goals Provide regular reporting on supply chain performance Requirements: At least 5 years of experience in a supply chain management/purchasing role Strong negotiation and contract management skills Experience of working with an MRP system Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Good knowledge of supply chain best practices Experience in the manufacturing industry.
