Our busy Manufacturing client in the Dungannon area require a Projects Engineer/Manager to join their Projects team. Reporting to the Business Line Director, you will act as the conduit between the various teams. This role pulls together all elements to ensure a smooth transition from order to dispatch including all stock units. Especially when non-standard orders are placed, this role is critical in ensuring everything aligns and dispatch targets are met. The role interfaces with, and acts as the link between, all functions including the Sales and Engineering teams, external suppliers, order processing, production, Shipping and the customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Development and control of project plans (on MS Project) between applications, engineering and operations.
- Regular review and reporting to the management team on the project status.
- Attendance & participation at S&OP, Clear To Build daily, Bi-weekly production and AER meetings.
- Constant interaction with Shipping, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Operations.
- Timely procurement creation.
- Primary Customer contact for all aspects of the project, up to dispatch of equipment.
- Achievement of project key targets.
- Creation of project risk analysis.
- Chairing of regular (weekly) project meetings ensuring that all disciplines attend; are enabled to take an active role and there are effective cross-functional relationships.
- To participate in the quality improvement process so that problems are tackled systematically and eliminated through continuous improvement.
- To support the production engineering function in terms of problem solving and continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are followed in accordance with company policies.
Eligibility requirements include:
- Degree educated or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Previous experience working in a projects role, within production environment, heavy manufacturing industry preferred.
- Must hold the relevant skills required to develop continuous improvements.
- Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate a collaborative and assertive skillset and have the ability to monitor and interpret the Computerised ERP System (Oracle) for part and materials availability, and specific job requirements, ensuring all works are completed to schedule and quality parameters.
- Must be flexible and have a positive approach when tasked with resolving urgent or unexpected business and project eventualities.
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate detailed verbal and written information to audiences of varied backgrounds, both technically and culturally.
