Our client, a well-established civil engineering and construction contractor, is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join their growing team on projects based in the Hillsborough area. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to take ownership of site engineering activities while working alongside an experienced project delivery team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, accurately and to programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all setting out and surveying duties on site.
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Liaise closely with Site Managers, Contracts Managers and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of site records and documentation.
- Identify and resolve technical issues as they arise on site.
- Support the management and coordination of subcontractors.
- Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Ensure all engineering works are delivered accurately and within programme requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or construction projects.
- Proficient in setting out using modern surveying equipment.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Valid CSR/CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
- Full driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on large-scale civil engineering, infrastructure or reinforced concrete projects.
- Knowledge of quality assurance procedures and site documentation.
- Previous experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities.
