About the Company

Our client is a long-established and highly respected interior design and home furnishings retailer with over 50 years of success in the industry. Recognised as a market leader, they offer an extensive range of quality furniture and home products and pride themselves on delivering exceptional customer service and design expertise. They are now seeking to recruit a talented and driven Sales Executive / Interior Designer to join their successful sales team.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for selling a wide range of premium home furnishing products, including furniture, upholstery, carpets, mattresses and bedroom furniture. This role combines consultative sales with interior design guidance, ensuring customers receive expert advice and an outstanding shopping experience. Full time (includes weekends, bank holidays, and one late night per week until 8pm)

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell from a wide range of quality branded furniture and home furnishing products
  • Maintain strong knowledge of store layout, products, and stock availability
  • Provide detailed product information while identifying opportunities to cross-sell and upsell
  • Advise customers on interior design elements such as space planning, layout, and colour coordination
  • Conduct home or office visits to provide professional interior design consultations
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and departments to ensure excellent customer service
  • Merchandise and display products creatively while maintaining high store standards
  • Deliver a professional, respectful and personalised service to every customer
  • Support multi-departmental operations as required
  • Assist with stock taking and general store duties

Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated with a drive to succeed in a sales-driven environment
  • Engaging, enthusiastic, and customer-focused approach
  • Professional verbal and written English

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience (experience in furniture, upholstery, interiors or related retail sectors is highly desirable)
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C (or equivalent) or above
  • Full, valid driving licence and access to own vehicle (occasional travel to other branches for training may be required)

  • Availability to work weekends and bank holidays
