This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded purchasing professional to take responsibility for supplier management, stock levels and ensuring continuity of supply to production. The Role Manage purchasing activities to ensure continuity of supply and appropriate stock levels. Negotiate cost, quality and delivery with suppliers to achieve best value. Develop strong supplier relationships and improve supplier performance. Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and purchasing records. Monitor stock levels and support the Stores team to maintain a lean and efficient inventory. Expedite urgent and critical items to avoid production delays. Support stock takes and initiatives to improve stock accuracy. Ensure suppliers meet required Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety standards. Provide procurement data and performance information to management. About You 23+ years' experience in a Buyer or Stores role with purchasing responsibilities, ideally within manufacturing. Good IT skills, including spreadsheets and purchasing systems. GCSE-level Maths and English or equivalent. Experience within the quarrying or screening industry. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kanban and stock-control processes. This role would suit a proactive and commercially focused purchasing professional who enjoys working closely with suppliers and internal teams to improve efficiency, control costs and ensure production runs smoothly.
