Our client is a leading manufacturing organisation based in the Dungannon area and is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Co-Ordinator to join their team. Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and maintaining high standards of health and safety across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive health and safety professional to develop their career within a busy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to, regularly reviewed, updated and effectively communicated.
  • Complete and regularly review risk assessments for work equipment, processes and operations.
  • Ensure all accidents and incidents are accurately documented, investigated and appropriate improvements implemented.
  • Conduct and coordinate regular workplace safety inspections and checks.
  • Ensure fire drills and fire alarm checks are completed and appropriately recorded.
  • Manage safety inspections, risk assessments and safe working procedures, ensuring employees understand their responsibilities.
  • Participate in Health & Safety Committee meetings and prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Monitor agreed Health & Safety Committee actions and ensure they are completed within the required deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Health & Safety and training records.
  • Complete a comprehensive programme of documented Health & Safety inspections and compliance checks.
  • Complete, review and provide consultation in relation to COSHH assessments.
  • Design and deliver toolbox talks and other Health & Safety awareness initiatives.
  • Manage the ordering, issuing and handling of PPE in line with company risk assessments.
  • Support the HSEQ Manager with wider Health & Safety initiatives and projects.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by management.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in completing and reviewing Risk Assessments.
  • Experience working within an ISO Management System environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Educated to Degree level.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in a similar Health & Safety role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge or experience of Occupational Health & Safety standards, including ISO 45001.
  • Internal Auditor qualification.
