Our busy Construction client are seeking a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to support a range of construction projects. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you will play a key part in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, and supporting operational teams across multiple sites.
Location: Site-based (multiple locations - Belfast area)
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Job Type: Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Safety & Compliance
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits
- Identify hazards and support corrective actions
- Promote safe working practices across all projects
- Risk Assessments & Procedures
- Assist in preparing and reviewing risk assessments and RAMS
- Support the implementation of safe systems of work
- Incident Management
- Support investigations into incidents and near misses
- Prepare reports and track corrective actions
- Training & Engagement
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings
- Promote wellbeing and safe working behaviours
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate H&S records and site documentation
- Support monthly reporting and compliance tracking
- Stakeholder Liaison
- Work closely with site teams, subcontractors, and clients
- Support audits and inspections
Essential Criteria:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Experience in construction or a similar high-risk environment
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation (including CDM 2015)
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Good IT skills and experience with digital reporting tools
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience in social housing or maintenance projects
- IOSH membership (or working towards)
- First Aid / Asbestos Awareness
