Engineering Manager in Dungannon Area
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious Engineering Manager to join a growing engineering business and play a key role within the Senior Leadership Team. This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for engineering strategy, product development, project delivery and team performance, within the aggregate washing and materials-processing sector. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team and oversee innovative, customised projects from concept and design through to manufacture, testing and production release.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Take ownership of engineering projects from concept through to production.
- Drive NPD/NPI and continuous product improvement.
- Develop and maintain engineering standards covering drawings, BOMs, design reviews and engineering change control.
- Improve design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA), product cost and efficiency.
- Support Sales and Applications with bespoke and technically challenging projects.
- Manage engineering resources, priorities, budgets and project delivery.
- Drive standardisation and modularisation across the product range.
- Lead root-cause analysis and engineering quality improvements.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant machinery safety legislation and engineering standards.
- Develop engineering KPIs and drive departmental performance.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Operations and Senior Management.
About You
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience leading an engineering/design function within manufacturing.
- Experience within aggregate washing, crushing, screening, quarrying, recycling, bulk materials handling or heavy machinery.
- Strong knowledge of heavy fabricated machinery and bespoke engineered equipment.
- Experience managing projects within an Engineer-to-Order or Configure-to-Order environment.
- Proven NPD/NPI and continuous improvement experience.
- Strong 3D CAD capability, ideally Creo.
- Experience with BOMs, engineering change control and product configuration.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness, with an understanding of engineering costs
