Our busy Engineering client in the Dungannon area require a CNC Shop Supervisor to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and proactive CNC Shop Supervisor to lead a precision machining department. This is a hands-on leadership role combining high-level technical expertise with responsibility for workflow, quality, and team performance. You will play a key role in bridging production planning with shop floor execution, ensuring components are manufactured to the highest standards while maintaining efficient throughput and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Programming
- Set and operate multi-axis CNC lathes and mills
- Write, edit, and optimise CNC programs (online and offline)
- Oversee routine machine and tooling maintenance to minimise downtime
- Quality & Precision
- Carry out self-inspection of components to tight tolerances
- Ensure parts are deburred and finished to required standards
- Operations & Workflow
- Organise job flow to maximise efficiency and output
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supervise and mentor a small team of operators
- Ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times
Requirements
- Several years experience as a CNC Machinist (milling & turning)
- Strong experience setting and operating multi-axis machines
- Experience with 3D programming
- Familiarity with FANUC controls
- Ability to self-inspect using standard measuring equipment
- Understanding of lean tools such as 5S, Continuous Improvement, and Kanban
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience desirable
