Our client creates bespoke, flexible systems for the power and water sectors. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding team.

Reporting to: Design Manager

Salary: Competitive, Negotiable depending on experience

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical design of water/wastewater projects in line with client specifications
  • Production of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using Plant 3D
  • Production and co-ordination of 3D models using Revit
  • Production of general arrangement drawings, sections & elevations
  • Production of pump calculations, equipment schedules, technical specifications
  • Production of fabrication detail drawings for site installations
  • Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain quotations for equipment
  • Preparation of technical design submissions for client review
  • Attend regular project design and site meetings
  • Liaise with process engineers, electrical engineers and ICA Engineers on projects
  • Comply with all ISO Quality & Environmental policies and procedures, and all health and safety rules
  • Enjoy the full life cycle of a project from initial specification to commissioning

Essential Experience:

  • Mechanical engineering qualification (HNC/HND or similar)
  • 4+ years experience in a similar mechanical design role
  • Experience using 3D Modelling software (Revit, Inventor, Solid Works etc)
