An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our clients Cookstown manufacturing business covering all aspects of Electrical and Mechanical maintenance and fitting / repair work. This is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate to join an established employer who can offer training, development and progression within the company if desired.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will work an evening shift 17.15pm to 04.00am Monday to Thursday and will be responsible for maintaining a planned servicing and preventative maintenance programme across the site.

Duties include:

  • Undertake repairs of electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment
  • Respond to breakdowns and complete repairs in a timely manner taking account of production schedules
  • Make periodic inspections of equipment to find defects before breakdowns occur
  • Diagnose problems and then complete repair or arrange replacement as required
  • Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
  • Liaise with Production Manager regarding the purchase of necessary materials from approved suppliers at best price
  • Communicate with the Shift Manager and keep them updated on progress of repair jobs
  • Comply with Health & Safety requirements and assist with implementation of company procedures and standards

Essential Skills and Criteria:

  • Time served in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
  • Manufacturing or Industrial background
  • CNC Machine operations experience (preferred)
  • Pre-planned / reactive maintenance
  • Planning and organising skills
  • Problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to act decisively
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to work in a logical, systematic manner
