A well-established and growing property development company is seeking a hands-on Company Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This is a varied role covering accounts, payroll, and project costing, working closely with senior management and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and profit & loss reports
- Manage project costings, WIP, and profitability tracking
- Process payroll, including PAYE and subcontractors
- Administer employee payroll, holiday pay, and manage starters and leavers
- Maintain accurate staff holiday records
- Process invoices and manage both purchase and sales ledgers
- Handle CIS, VAT returns, and ensure HMRC compliance
- Manage payments, purchase ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Monitor cashflow and support financial reporting
- Provide general administrative support as required
- Use Sage for accounting and payroll functions
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar accounts role
- Working knowledge of Sage, PAYE, VAT, and CIS
- Experience within construction or property sectors is desirable
- Highly organised, reliable, and proactive
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
