An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Technician to join a busy finance team supporting a diverse portfolio of businesses. This role will suit a motivated finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has experience preparing accounts, managing financial records, and supporting audit processes. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will provide bookkeeping and accounting support while assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and financial statements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of annual accounts for small and medium-sized companies.
  • Support year-end financial reporting and statutory accounts preparation.
  • Assist with audit preparation and respond to audit queries.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Complete Companies House submissions.
  • Process cash book transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Manage sales ledger activities, including debtor reconciliations.
  • Liaise with external agents and professional advisors when required.
  • Provide general accounting and finance support as required.

Requirements

  • Qualified or Part-Qualified Accounting Technician (AAT, IATI, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within a busy finance or accounts environment.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
