At Hatzfeld we provide residential care for adults with varying needs such as Asperger's, Schizophrenia or eating disorders to age-related illnesses or Dementia. A person-centred care plan is produced tailored to each individual's specific needs. Laughton Croft is a residential mental health home. With residential care services in Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire we have a wide range of different career opportunities available supporting adults with varying levels of need, providing person centred, responsive care.
The cook will prepare residents' meals and maintain a well-balanced nutritious diet, taking into consideration special dietary needs and requirements as set out in Residents Care Plans and residents' menu choices. Maintain a high standard of food preparation and implement the requirements set out by the Environment Health and Local Authority for the Home, the Food Safety Act 1990, and the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations. Personal appearance must be of an acceptable level. Uniform provided must be worn, hair covered or tied back. Sensible enclosed non-slip shoes to be worn.
Requirements:
- Must be confident to lone work
- Experience in maintaining a 5* food hygiene rating is ideal but not essential
- An understanding of Safe food better business and working inline to this
- To hold a suitable food and hygiene certificate, ideal but not essential
- To prepare food and cook in a hygienic manner
- Help come up with ideas for meals and mealtimes
- To be aware of the residents' dietary needs and respond to their comments and requests in respect of the menu
- To ensure that all food is used within the prescribed period, with particular attention paid to perishable goods
- To contribute in the serving of food
- To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required
- Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking procedures
