As a Care Manager you will be expected to report to the Home Manager, contributing to the delivery of a quality and comprehensive care service within Hatzfeld Care Ltd. You will ensure effective running and allocation of work to a team of Seniors and Support Workers, including managing the staff rota, performance, health and safety, infection control, conduct and attendance, continuously striving towards achieving excellence in all areas of practice.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day to day delivery of a high quality, evidence-based person centred, holistic care incorporating meaningful activities for people living with mental health conditions.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of best practice and developments.
- Oversee staffing levels to ensure that appropriate levels of staff are maintained, taking appropriate action in the event of any gaps in service.
- Maintain up to date and accurate records in compliance with Information Governance.
- Practice within the guidance and legal framework of CQC Regulations and the Essential standards of Quality and Safety, Infection Control, Medication and Confidentiality, and National Medical Council's standards and guidance.
- Ensure Information Governance and confidentiality is adhered to at all times.
Qualifications:
- Qualification in Dementia, mental health or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) – current registration not essential.
- Management qualification or post-qualifying award Diploma Level 5 or working towards (or equivalent) in health care.
- Diploma level 3 (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care.
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent).
Experience and Skills (Essential / Desirable):
- Management or supervisory role within care home.
- Specialist skills and experience in dementia / mental health.
- People management skills including best practice in recruitment, selection and performance management.
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
- Conducting service reviews and report writing.
- Good level of IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, internet based packages).
- Development and measurement of Quality Assurance systems.
