Our client, a well-established and growing commercial cleaning business, is seeking an experienced People & Development Manager to join their Senior Management Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with hands-on operational delivery. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the company's people strategy while leading the day-to-day HR function across a workforce of more than 200 employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the company's People Strategy to support continued business growth.
- Design and implement leadership, management and employee development programmes.
- Lead the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding and retention.
- Manage employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence management and TUPE.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers across the business.
- Oversee HR systems, workforce planning and time and attendance reporting.
- Ensure HR policies and processes remain compliant, efficient and fit for a growing organisation.
About You
- Proven experience in a senior HR or People Management role.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations, including TUPE.
- Experience developing people strategies and leadership development programmes.
- A hands-on approach with the ability to operate strategically and operationally.
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
- CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualification is desirable.
- Experience within commercial cleaning, facilities management or another multi-site service business would be advantageous.
