We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded HR & Talent Business Partner to join a dynamic, entrepreneurial creative business on a 12‑month maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with senior leadership teams, helping to shape and deliver people strategies that drive business performance, strengthen employee engagement, and support organisational growth.
Working as part of a collaborative HR function, you will provide both strategic and operational HR support across the business. You will act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, ensuring a proactive, responsive and people‑focused HR service. The wider HR team is committed to creating an exceptional workplace culture — one that encourages innovation, collaboration, development, and meaningful employee experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong, credible relationships with senior leaders and managers across the business
- Partner with leadership teams to support business planning and talent strategy
- Maintain awareness of commercial priorities, team structures, and operational challenges
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing practical and commercially focused HR guidance
- Employee Relations & HR Support
- Manage employee relations matters with professionalism, sensitivity, and a pragmatic approach
- Provide expert advice on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation
- Support managers with performance management, development discussions, and people‑related challenges
- Talent & Recruitment
- Partner with leadership to define hiring needs and workforce plans
- Support and challenge hiring managers to ensure high‑quality recruitment decisions
- Ensure a strong candidate experience and efficient recruitment processes
- Payroll & Benefits
- Oversee payroll processes, ensuring governance, accuracy, and compliance with HR policy and regulation
- Work within the People First system, requiring strong attention to detail
- Learning & Development
- Identify development needs across the business in partnership with managers
- Support delivery of learning and development initiatives across both local and wider group teams
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and growth
- HR Operations & Projects
- Support delivery of the HR roadmap and wider people initiatives
- Work closely with HR administration and payroll support to ensure accurate and compliant HR processes
- Oversee HR reporting, analytics, and people data insights to support decision‑making
- Drive continuous improvement across HR systems and processes
- Leverage technology and AI tools to enhance efficiency and workforce planning
- Previous experience in an HR role or strong exposure to HR functions
- Knowledge of employee relations
- Commercially aware with the ability to balance people and business needs
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, adaptable, and solutions‑focused
- Experience in a fast‑paced, creative, or entrepreneurial environment is desirable
