We are seeking an Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) to join our team.
Job Purpose: Responsible for providing ambulance care, including assessment, treatment, and patient movement in non-emergency situations. Candidates must have completed ACA foundation training, including first aid and manual handling. The role involves working with diverse patient groups in challenging settings and supporting other ambulance crews or operations as needed.
Main Duties:
- Clinical
- Ensure vehicle and personal readiness for patient journeys.
- Maintain communication with the Control team regarding availability and movements.
- Conduct safe patient transport with care and compassion, assisting clinicians and applying appropriate care procedures.
- Keep accurate records of patient movements, respecting patient dignity and confidentiality.
- Communicate medical information effectively to clinicians, patients, and relatives.
- Liaise with healthcare professionals and communicate relevant information internally and externally.
- Vehicles
- Drive relevant vehicle types lawfully and with sensitivity.
- Check vehicles and equipment before use, ensuring readiness and functionality.
- Perform vehicle inspections post-duty, reporting defects and maintaining cleanliness.
- Administration
- Complete reports and notifications per company policies.
- Maintain records of passengers, journeys, refueling, and duty hours.
- Report incidents, accidents, and equipment issues accurately.
- Resourcing
- Be available for shifts as scheduled.
- Respond to requests to change working hours or locations to ensure optimal coverage.
