In the Manufacturing team at JLR's Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC), you'll help power iconic electric cars. You will be working alongside incredible technicians and leaders to drive our commitment to shape a future we truly believe in, together. Use your expertise, cutting-edge technology, and problem-solving skills to ensure efficient, sustainable and high-quality production.
As a Welding Technician here at JLR, you will be responsible for setting up and operating all manual welding stations, along with rework and validation equipment, to ensure production readiness. You will use your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to identify and rectify non-conforming products, minimising scrap and downtime. In addition, you will support the wider team by identifying in-process welding issues and implementing effective corrective actions.
What To Expect
- Safely operate, troubleshoot and maintain welding stations and equipment for all rework purposes
- Serve as a go-to person for understanding and rectifying quality issues with the process/product, engaging with Engineering for solutions
- Support Engineering with the development of welding procedures and associated documentation
- Learn, understand and follow JLR requirements for employee safety, product quality and productivity
- Perform visual inspections and provide periodic weld samples to comply with the Internal Quality Standards and legislation
What You'll Need
- Experience and qualification in manual welding GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG) and MMA is a must
- Ability to weld comfortably in 3G (PF) positions
- Significant experience working in a manufacturing metal-working aluminium environment
- Weld Approval Test Certificate
- A relevant Level 3 NVQ/BTEC/City and Guilds
