Hybrid working is potentially available, depending on the area and manager. JLR is a multi-site business and you will be required to spend time working with different departments at several locations.

Our undergraduate programmes offer a direct pipeline to our graduate scheme, which is not eligible for sponsorship. Therefore, JLR will only accept applications for this programme from candidates who would have the right to work in the UK at the point that they would successfully convert to the graduate programme.

DATA ANALYTICS UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME

At JLR, we are analysing the future of movement. The insights we gather are used to create data-driven, cutting-edge designs and deliver modern luxury. Our data and analytics create value, drive profitable growth and make the business more efficient and agile by delivering quick, actionable insights.

Throughout this 12-month programme, you will work on high-profile projects, gain insights from industry experts and senior managers, and gain the skills and experience you need to become a successful data and analytics professional.

As an undergraduate joining our Commercial or Engineering team, you will develop your skills across Data Engineering, Data Science and Data Analytics, using cutting-edge tools such as Google Cloud Platform. You might be creating dashboards to give engineers insights into their systems or help marketeers with effective campaigning, creating a machine learning model to look for patterns in complex data, creating data pipelines to automate the collection of vehicle data, or writing scripts to analyse data and improve the engineering process or enrich data to help us better understand our customers.

  • COMMERCIAL - Gaydon

    Our Commercial team spans over 3,500 colleagues globally and is constantly evolving to ensure we provide a relentless focus on customer experience to deliver a modern luxury experience across all customer touchpoints. As the competitive landscape evolves with more digital touchpoints, connected vehicles, and diverse ownership models, we continue to transform our four world-class, modern luxury brands - and data is at the core of this transformation.

    You will be based within the specialist Analytics team in the Customer Experience centre of excellence (CEX), which leads the JLR modern luxury customer journey. Through the use of advanced analytics and industry leading mar-tech we ensure no customer signal is ignored and the customer journey feels personal for every single customer. The CEX team support the customer from the very beginning, when known only as a cookie, through exploring and making their purchase and beyond ensuring owner satisfaction is maximised to build loyalty to JLR's brands.

    Throughout your 12-month placement, you will have the opportunity to work across core Analytics capabilities including Data Engineering, Data Science & Data Analytics whilst also supporting Commercial colleagues in driving growth, simplifying processes and understanding our business and customers, to help deliver personalised customer experiences.

  • VEHICLE PLATFORM TEAM - West Midlands (Gaydon, Whitley or NAIC)

    The Vehicle Platform team is where engineering meets innovation - delivering world class automotive experiences. We engineer and deliver the core systems that define the customer experience - everything from Body Interiors, Body Exteriors, Body in White, Chassis, EDU, Powertrains & Accessories. We are a large, highly skilled team with a focus on integrating cutting-edge technology and engineering excellence to create vehicles that set new standards in performance, comfort and safety.

    As a Data Undergraduate, you will work alongside experienced data professionals to transform this data into meaningful and impactful insights. Using tools such as Tableau, Python, SQL, Matlab, and leveraging Cloud platforms, you will help deliver scalable solutions that benefit the entire Vehicle Platform team.

    You will gain hands-on experience across multiple disciplines, collaborating with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Architects to unlock the power and value of data. This is your opportunity to develop technical skills, solve real-world challenges, and make a tangible impact on the future of our vehicles.

  • DIGITAL PLATFORM - (Manchester)

    The Digital Platform team is responsible for the end-to-end delivery and operation of JLR's on- and off-board digital platforms, owning the software and hardware that power vehicle and cloud services. The team integrates software components to deliver seamless, customer-facing features across both vehicle and digital environments. You could get involved in work with a range of experts to transform data into meaningful insights using a range of analytical tools.

Throughout your journey, our Early Careers Delivery team will provide continuous support and guidance, ensuring you make the most of every opportunity. By the time you finish, you will be equipped to tackle the challenges of a rapidly changing industry and ready to make a meaningful impact.

What You’ll Need

To join the Data Analytics Undergraduate programme, you will need to hold or be on track to achieve at least a 2:2 degree in any discipline. We are particularly keen to receive applications from students with a passion for analytics.

You should be a skilled problem-solver with a curiosity for understanding business challenges and a drive to deliver innovative solutions. Strong numerical and interpersonal skills, along with the confidence to champion new initiatives, are also essential.

Please note that our undergraduate placement opportunities are open only to penultimate-year students (those who will be returning to their final year of study or on an integrated master’s after their placement with us). All our undergraduate programmes have a fixed start date, commencing 6th July 2025.
