As the Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in ensuring cost control, contract compliance, and financial success across the company's project portfolio.
The Role
Working closely with the Contracts Manager and wider delivery teams, the Quantity Surveyor will take ownership of post-contract cost control, subcontractor management, valuations, and forecasting. You'll ensure projects are delivered profitably and in line with commercial expectations, all while protecting the business contractually. This is a hands-on role, offering the opportunity to lead on valuation meetings, set up and manage subcontractor contracts, and work across a range of fast-paced commercial fit-out projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit monthly valuations to clients
- Review and approve monthly subcontractor applications
- Set up and manage subcontracts to ensure alignment with scope, cost, and compliance standards
- Monitor project financials, including forecasting, GP tracking, and cash flow reporting
- Oversee and price project variations
- Support contractual negotiations and manage disputes if they arise
- Maintain accurate documentation, files, and warranties throughout each project
- Agree final accounts with both clients and subcontractors
- Contribute to lessons learned and process improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who combines technical quantity surveying knowledge with a strong commercial mindset. You'll be confident in negotiating, communicating with stakeholders, and driving financial outcomes across multiple projects.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, ideally within commercial fit-out, interiors, or construction
- A track record of maintaining strong GP levels across multiple projects
- Experience with cost planning, valuation processes, and contract negotiations
- A collaborative approach to working with design, pre-contracts, and operations teams
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
