The Role
Weβre seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead, mentor, and grow our remote-first engineering organization. This is a senior leadership position reporting directly to the CPO. The successful candidate will have a strong people leadership background, with over 10 years of experience managing remote and distributed engineering teams and a proven track record of turning around teams into healthy, high-performing units. Youβll be responsible for leading a team of 11 direct reports and shaping the engineering culture to support autonomy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 11 direct reports (engineering managers and senior engineers).
- Define and drive the engineering strategy in alignment with company goals.
- Build and maintain a high-trust, inclusive engineering culture in a fully remote, globally distributed team.
- Guide team development, hiring, retention, and succession planning.
- Implement and optimize engineering processes and workflows to improve collaboration and delivery speed.
- Partner with Product, Design, and other cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features.
- Provide technical leadership and ensure best practices in software engineering, architecture, and security.
- Diagnose and address team dysfunctions, implementing strategies to turn teams around and help them thrive.
Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering leadership experience in a remote environment.
- Proven track record of transforming underperforming engineering teams into high-trust, high-impact teams.
- Deep understanding of B2B SaaS products and the technical and organizational complexities they entail.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Comfortable working across time zones and managing asynchronous communication effectively.
- Strong track record in hiring, coaching, and growing engineering talent.
- Experience managing change in a scale-up environment.
Nice to Have
- Background in modern DevOps practices, cloud-native architecture, and agile delivery.
- Experience in post-Series A to Series C SaaS companies.
- Prior experience reporting to a CTO or working closely with Product leadership.
- Have previously worked for a PE backed firm.
