An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SHEQ Manager to join a forward-thinking organisation operating in the engineering and energy sectors. This home-based position gives you the autonomy to lead and influence SHEQ practices across a range of engineering environments while travelling to operational sites across the South of England.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong engineering background who thrives in technical settings and understands the unique safety and compliance challenges that come with engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of SHEQ strategies in engineering-focused environments
- Conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring compliance with SHEQ and industry-specific standards
- Maintain ISO certifications and manage SHEQ KPIs in line with engineering project performance
- Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 and provide guidance on Temporary Works within engineering contexts
- Deliver SHEQ inductions, toolbox talks, and targeted training for site and technical staff
- Develop and review RAMS tailored to engineering project risks and operations
- Support tender submissions and PQQs with relevant SHEQ input and documentation
- Work with internal teams and external regulators to maintain safe, compliant engineering sites
- Monitor and close out SHEQ incidents effectively, using structured reporting systems
- Proven experience in engineering or technical project environments is essential
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and CMIOSH (or working towards)
- Additional qualifications in Environmental Management (IEMA) and Quality Management
- SMSTS, TWC, and CSCS certifications are required
- Lead Auditor and Fire Risk Assessment qualifications are desirable
- Confident working in line with CDM 2015 regulations
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to influence operational and engineering teams effectively
- Proactive and self-motivated with excellent time management and organisational ability
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams, Excel, and digital SHEQ tools
