About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and dependable School Caretaker to join our team in Islington. This role is crucial in ensuring our school remains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, plumbing, painting, and basic electrical work.
  • Ensure the security of the premises, including daily opening and locking of the school.
  • Maintain heating, lighting, and alarm systems to ensure full functionality.
  • Conduct regular health and safety checks to uphold compliance standards.
  • Supervise cleaning staff or contractors to ensure cleanliness across the premises.
  • Manage and replenish stock of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for larger repairs or maintenance work.

About You

  • Proven experience in a similar caretaker or maintenance role is highly desirable.
  • Strong practical skills in DIY, general building maintenance, and basic repairs.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
