A local authority Regulatory Services team is looking for an Enforcement Officer to investigate complaints about noise, bonfires, and waste. The role involves site visits, evidence gathering, preparing reports for senior officers, and supporting enforcement action. The post combines office work with field visits and participation in an out-of-hours noise service, with officers working in pairs during late shifts. A council vehicle is provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate noise and environmental complaints across Wandsworth and Richmond
- Conduct inspections, gather evidence, and prepare case reports
- Serve statutory notices and support legal proceedings
- Provide advice to residents, businesses, and stakeholders
- Maintain accurate case records and support team projects
Requirements:
- Experience in regulatory enforcement or Environmental Health
- Knowledge of noise nuisance legislation and enforcement procedures
- Strong written, verbal, and case management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Desirable:
- Environmental Health qualification or relevant specialist training
Shift Pattern:
- Weekday office hours: 9am–5pm
