HR Advisor - Temporary | Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn BT27 4RL £16.90 per hour (PAYE) 37 hours per week (office-based for the first 1-2 months, then usually 2 days a week from home) Starting Monday 9 November 2026 Hatched Recruitment Group is recruiting an HR Advisor to join Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council's HR & Organisation Development team. You'll give professional, practical HR advice to managers and employees across the council. What you'll be doing: Representing HR at employee relations meetings, including discipline, grievance, harassment, attendance and flexible working cases Advising and supporting line managers on HR policies, procedures and conditions of service Working with Occupational Health on attendance management and pre-employment health checks Carrying out recruitment and selection in line with the council's policies and the Local Government Staff Commission's Code of Practice Supporting the induction of new employees Handling HR administration for new starters, leavers, secondments, transfers and contract changes Preparing monthly and year-end reports, including equal opportunities and absence figures Maintaining and testing the HR information system, and covering for other HR Advisors What you'll need: Current membership of the CIPD Five GCSEs (A-C), NVQ Level 2 or equivalent At least 2 years' experience in HR, including advising line managers on generalist HR issues If you don't have the qualifications above, at least 5 years' HR experience instead A working knowledge of computerised HR information systems Strong communication skills and good judgement What's on offer: £16.90 per hour, paid weekly Hybrid working after your induction period Holiday pay accrued in line with statutory entitlement Pension auto-enrolment (subject to eligibility) Broad generalist HR experience in a busy public sector team You must be eligible to work in the UK.
