We are seeking a skilled and motivated Gardener / Horticulturist to provide an effective maintenance and improvement service for Calderdale's green spaces and street scene.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out a varied range of open space and public realm horticultural duties, including:
  • Routine grounds maintenance across parks, highways, and public spaces
  • Grass cutting, strimming, and hedge trimming
  • Hard and soft landscaping tasks
  • Fine turf management and ornamental horticulture
  • Tree maintenance and basic arboricultural support
  • Safe use, routine checks, and basic maintenance of horticultural machinery and equipment
  • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard of presentation, safety, and environmental care

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in gardening, horticulture, or grounds maintenance
  • Valid Full UK Driving Licence
  • All Lantra or equivalent certificates must have been achieved within the last 3 years
  • Ability to operate horticultural machinery safely and competently
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures in outdoor/public environments
