We are seeking a skilled and motivated Gardener / Horticulturist to provide an effective maintenance and improvement service for Calderdale's green spaces and street scene.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a varied range of open space and public realm horticultural duties, including:
- Routine grounds maintenance across parks, highways, and public spaces
- Grass cutting, strimming, and hedge trimming
- Hard and soft landscaping tasks
- Fine turf management and ornamental horticulture
- Tree maintenance and basic arboricultural support
- Safe use, routine checks, and basic maintenance of horticultural machinery and equipment
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard of presentation, safety, and environmental care
Essential Requirements
- Experience in gardening, horticulture, or grounds maintenance
- Valid Full UK Driving Licence
- All Lantra or equivalent certificates must have been achieved within the last 3 years
- Ability to operate horticultural machinery safely and competently
- Understanding of health and safety procedures in outdoor/public environments
