Hatched Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of Belfast City Council for a Business Support Clerk to join the Information and Governance Unit within the Legal and Civic Services Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to provide high-quality clerical and business support within a busy public sector environment.
The successful candidate will support a range of administrative duties including:
- Providing general administrative and clerical support across the department.
- Maintaining accurate electronic and manual filing systems.
- Processing data, updating records and using internal systems effectively.
- Preparing letters, reports, correspondence and other documents.
- Assisting with meeting arrangements, including taking notes and minutes when required.
- Handling telephone and email enquiries professionally.
- Supporting routine business activities including data input, reporting and general administration.
- Using Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in an administrative, clerical or business support role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling information.
- Good IT skills with experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to organise workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Information: The role will initially be office-based during training. Once training is completed, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid pattern, with 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home.
