Belfast City Council is currently recruiting for a Park Warden on behalf of the Parks and Cemeteries Operational Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in security, enforcement, customer service, or outdoor operational roles.
The Role
As a Park Warden, you will help maintain safe, welcoming and enjoyable public spaces across Belfast's parks. You will carry out patrols, support park users, enforce council by-laws and assist with maintaining the safety and security of facilities.
Key Duties Include:
- Carrying out regular patrols of parks, cemeteries and open spaces
- Enforcing council by-laws, dog control orders, litter code and alcohol regulations
- Responding to complaints and reporting incidents appropriately
- Supporting public safety and providing excellent customer service
- Opening and securing buildings and facilities
- Carrying out inspections of playgrounds, paths, park furniture and facilities
- Recording incidents, damage and maintenance issues
- Removing litter, waste and hazardous materials where required
- Working with community groups, stakeholders and statutory agencies including PSNI
- Assisting at events and supporting park activities
Essential Criteria:
- Full UK driving licence (valid in Northern Ireland)
- Experience dealing with members of the public face-to-face
- Experience in a security, patrol, enforcement or similar role
- Ability to complete incident reports and maintain accurate records
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Working Hours:
This role operates on a 4-week annualised rota covering early and late shifts, including weekends.
Summer period: 42 hours per week
Winter period: 29 hours per week
5 days out of 7 rota pattern

Location: Falls Road, Belfast
Start Date: 27th July 2026
Duration: 12 weeks
Pay Rate: £15.82 per hour + additional rates for weekend and evening work
