We are currently recruiting 2 experienced Gardeners to support Belfast City Council's Parks and Cemeteries Operational Services team. You will help maintain parks, playing fields, landscaped areas, and open spaces across the city. This is a hands-on, outdoor role involving a wide range of horticultural and grounds maintenance duties.
Key Duties- Grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning, and turf care
- Sweeping, raking, litter picking, and general site maintenance
- Soil preparation, planting, and seasonal horticultural work
- Use of powered hand tools and light plant equipment
- Sports pitch maintenance (spiking, scarifying, marking out, etc.)
- Loading and moving equipment, plants, soil, and materials
- Basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and machinery
- Working safely in line with Health & Safety procedures
- NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture (or equivalent)
- PA1 & PA6 pesticide application certificates
- At least 1 year's relevant horticulture/grounds maintenance experience
- Experience dealing with the public in a face-to-face environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Good understanding of Health & Safety practices
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
