About the Opportunities

We are recruiting on behalf of Belfast City Council for a number of Community Development and Community Centre Support roles across Belfast. These roles sit within community services and focus on supporting local people, community groups, and community facilities. We are looking for people who are hands‑on, community‑focused, and confident working with the public in both development and operational settings.

Roles May Include

  • Community Development / Social Care Focus
    • Supporting community programmes and local projects
    • Working with volunteers and community groups
    • Assisting with funding applications and reporting
    • Supporting community engagement and outreach activities
    • Building relationships with local organisations and agencies
  • Community Centre / Facilities Focus
    • Acting as key holder for community centres
    • Supporting bookings, enquiries, and public use of facilities
    • Setting up rooms, equipment, and event spaces
    • Carrying out health & safety checks and building supervision
    • Supporting cash handling and basic administration
    • Ensuring centres are clean, safe, and welcoming

What We're Looking For

We are keen to speak with candidates who have experience in TWO or more of the following:

  • Community development, youth work, social care or outreach
  • Working in community centres or public‑facing environments
  • Supporting or supervising volunteers
  • Customer service or facilities‑based roles
  • Basic administration, bookings, or record keeping
