Administrative Officer £18/hr Southwark Start date: ASAP Hatched Recruitment is looking for one Coroner Resource Officer for approximately 3 – 6 months to undertake ushering duties. The Coroner Resource Officer is responsible for providing excellent administrative support to meet the requirements of the Inner South London Coroners Court. It is a challenging and varied role, and is best suited to someone who is a good team player with excellent communication and organisational skills.You will be responsible for a variety of duties pertaining to the effective operation of the Coroners Court About the Coroners Court London Inner South Coroner’s Court covers the boroughs of Southwark, Lambeth, Lewisham and Greenwich. A coroner is a special type of judge appointed by a local authority to investigate certain deaths. Coroners work within a framework of law passed by Parliament. They are appointed by a local authority but remain independent judicial office holders. Coroners investigate deaths that have been reported to them if they think that: * the death was violent or unnatural; * the cause of death is unknown; or, * the person died in prison, police custody or another type of state detention Principal duties * Management of the telephone service including front facing service of the court, and provide a consistent and professional high level of customer service at all times. * case management for death referrals. * interrogating IT systems to update and retrieve information; Other Duties * Supporting the Coroner as court usher for the efficient day to day operation of the court room for remote, in person and hybrid inquests; * managing the jury during jury inquests as jury bailiff; * operating court audio conferencing equipment; * court diary management; * processing information requests & press enquiries; * archiving of case files and court records; * processing financial orders & invoices; * maintaining & updating the court’s website Additional Information: * Good IT skills, and familiar with MS Teams * Hours of work: standard 36 hours Monday – Friday
