Governance professional to Governing Board. Salary: £400 per meeting (including all preparation and administration).

The Role

We are seeking a highly organized, professional, and reliable Governance Professional to the Governors to provide essential support to our Governing Board. You will work closely with the Chair of Governors and Headteacher to ensure the board operates efficiently and within legal frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation: Preparing and distributing agendas and papers for meetings (approx. 12 meetings per year including committee meetings).
  • Meeting Support: Attending meetings to take minutes, advising on procedural/regulatory matters, and managing the attendance log.
  • Administration: Maintaining records of board membership, terms of office, and filing statutory documents.
  • Compliance: Advising the board on compliance with school governance regulations.

About You

You will have excellent literacy and communication skills. Experience in clerking is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate. You are confident using Microsoft Office, Sharepoint and Teams and managing all types of electronic files. You can work independently and maintain confidentiality.
