Hatch Brenner Solicitors is seeking an organised, proactive and professional Legal Assistant to join our busy Property Team.

The successful candidate will provide administrative and legal support to our fee earners across a range of residential and commercial property matters. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills who enjoys working in a client focused environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Opening and closing files
  • Carrying out client identification and compliance checks
  • Preparing quotations and initial client documentation
  • Requesting searches and obtaining property information
  • Preparing standard letters, forms and legal documents
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and other solicitors
  • Providing clients with regular updates
  • Assisting with enquiries, exchanges and completions
  • Preparing completion statements and payment requests
  • Supporting SDLT and Land Registry applications
  • Managing diaries, appointments and key deadlines
  • Maintaining accurate electronic and paper files
  • Assisting with billing, archiving and general administrative duties

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous legal or property experience, although training may be provided
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good time-management and organisational skills
  • A professional and confident telephone manner
  • The ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong IT and administrative skills
  • A positive, proactive and client-focused approach
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
