About the role

This role is responsible for reviewing, allocating and accounting for income from residents across Hastoe’s stock, including homeowners and tenants. This role ensures that our transactional records, in both our financial and housing management systems remain accurate, while we also look to drive improvements in internal processes and external communication. The role also ensures compliance with the Rent Standard and other applicable legislation to rent charges and payments.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Input and daily reconciliation of resident payments from a variety of sources, including Direct Debit, Housing Benefit and Universal Credit, and other sources, into Hastoe’s housing management system
  • Liaising with the Senior Finance Officer and other roles within the Finance Team to ensure that income is correctly allocated and accounted for
  • Exporting data from the housing management system reviewing and importing into Hastoe’s financial systems
  • Assisting with rent and service charge reviews, in particular the implementation and validation of data in the housing management system
  • Supporting operational teams, including Customer Services, Housing and Home Ownership, by providing data and information for rent and payment queries
  • Working within the Rents Team on the annual rent review to ensure compliance with the Rent Standard

About you

We are looking for a Finance Assistant with experience in income and transaction allocation, reconciliation of bank and control accounts, and accounting functions. You will need to be highly organized, able to work independently, build relationships across the organization and manage competing priorities. We welcome candidates with interest in developing further in Finance in social housing.

You will also need:

  • Advanced skills in MS Office applications.
  • Keen attention to detail and an understanding of how to analyse, understand problems, and improve data quality
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, determination and attention to detail.
  • Experience working to deadlines and maintaining accurate records and transactional data.

Annual Leave: Starting at 25 days, plus bank holidays and 1.5 days complimentary leave, along with the option to purchase additional leave.

Enhanced Pension: Hastoe's employer contributions start at 5% and are based on matching of your own contribution level, plus 2%, up to a maximum of 8% employer contribution.
