The County of Hastings is currently accepting applications for the ongoing recruitment of a Casual Maintenance Person in the Facilities Department at Hastings Centennial Manor Long Term Care Facility in Bancroft, Ontario.
DUTIES
- Perform maintenance and repairs to the facilities including carpentry, drywall plastering, painting, plumbing and electrical.
- Perform and record general, remedial and preventative maintenance inspections, repairs and installations.
- Perform diagnostic and service on commercial grade dietary, housekeeping, laundry and nursing equipment.
- Perform diagnostic and service on commercial boilers, HVAC systems and other equipment as required.
- Source and order supplies and parts as needed.
- Pickup and delivery of supplies and parts and maintain inventory supplies.
- Perform grounds maintenance such as snow removal, garbage collection and ground checks.
- Provide general assistance to the Residents and staff members to ensure the efficient operation of the Home.
- Be aware of and follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Hastings/Quinte Long Term Care Services and County policies.
- Such other duties as may be required or assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
- Building Facilities Maintenance Certificate or Certification or other related post-secondary school education.
- Trade certification in a specialty area (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.) would be an asset.
- One to two years’ experience in the electrical/mechanical field, preferably within the Healthcare Sector would be an asset.
- Previous experience in the construction, electrical or mechanical field.
- Proficient in the use of computers.
- Knowledge of B.A.S. (Building Automation Systems).
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to trouble shoot, read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical schematics/drawings.
- Ability to be available for all shifts and after hour call-ins.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and in a team environment.
HOURS OF WORK: Casual, All Shifts
RATE OF PAY: $28.18/hour + 4% vacation
