We care for around 26,000 patients across St Leonards-on-Sea and Hastings. You will work a structured clinical day with protected breaks, catch-up slots and dedicated admin time, supported by regular clinical supervision and a friendly MDT.

Your week at a glance:

  • 6 – 8 Sessions per week
  • 15-minute appointments
  • Cap: ≤15 contacts per session
  • Dedicated Mental Health sessions: up to 2 sessions/week (negotiable) to run MH reviews, complex case discussions and shared-care follow-up
  • No on-call; home visits: Low
  • Protected CPD: 10% of weekly hours + 5 days study leave pro rata
  • 30 days AL + 8 BH (FTE)
  • Indemnity included

  • MDT: ANPs, ACP's, Clinical Pharmacists, PAs, Paramedics, MSK FCP, MHP
  • Admin support: Dedicated document/admin team

What you will do — Patient-facing:

  • Provide comprehensive, patient-centred GP care across acute, chronic and preventive needs
  • Consult in person or by telephone
  • Support patients with mental health needs, working with our multidisciplinary mental health team to ensure appropriate care and follow-up
  • Participate in clinical decision-making, triage, and referrals
  • Engage in quality improvement and clinical governance activities as part of our team ethos
  • Home visits as required
  • Care/Nursing home ward rounds with support from Enhanced Care Team
  • Lead in primary-care mental health: assessment, formulation, safety planning, brief interventions, step-up/step-down and shared-care follow-up (e.g., ADHD medications) with clear escalation pathways to CMHT/Crisis teams
  • SMI (Serious Mental Illness) physical health checks and proactive recall, with attention to cardio metabolic risk and medicines monitoring
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and joint reviews with MH colleagues

What you will do — Non-patient-facing:

  • Clinical admin & governance: results handling, correspondence, documentation, audit/QI, and practice meetings.
  • Specialist area time: develop a focus aligned to service needs.
  • Specialist time to develop MH pathways (e.g., trauma-informed care, perinatal mental health, addiction), aligned to service needs and your interests.

Package & support:

  • Workload clarity: structured day with protected daily break, catch-ups and admin time.
  • Development: regular clinical supervision, appraisal and study time; inclusive employer with strong safeguarding culture.
  • Benefits: £ per session (DOE) + NHS pension; annual leave: 6 weeks + 1 week study (pro-rata); indemnity & GMC fees paid.

What you will bring:

  • Full, unrestricted GMC (GP Register) + on the English National Performers List; strong communication and team ethos.
  • A passion for healthcare and evidence-based, person-centered care.
  • DBS required.

  • Afternoon session – 3 hours, 30 minutes Clinic approximately – 10 appointments Admin – 30 mins CPD – 30 mins
