Hastings Investment Management is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Paraplanner to join our growing team. This opportunity has arisen due to the continued expansion of the business, necessitating direct support for the majority shareholder. As a key member of our team, you will take on a pivotal role, delivering high-quality suitability reports, providing comprehensive technical research across various advice areas, and managing business administration for our clients alongside the existing team. This is a fully office-based position, requiring exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as an in-depth understanding of the Financial Planning industry. Progression opportunity for this candidate to develop into being a Financial Adviser in approximately 2 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft detailed and robust suitability reports using provided tools, across a range of advice areas.
- Conduct technical research on existing and recommended products, including fund analysis where necessary.
- Ensure all compliance, internal documents, and provider paperwork are completed accurately and stored in the back-office system.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and compliance standards at all times.
- Maintain awareness of and act in accordance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Financial Advisers to discuss client objectives and gather any additional information required to prepare suitability reports.
- Communicate effectively with product providers and other third parties, as needed.
- Actively expand industry knowledge and stay updated through internal and external resources.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum qualification of Level 4 CII Diploma in Financial Planning.
- At least 1-2 years of paraplanning experience within the Financial Planning industry, directly supporting Financial Advisers.
- Advanced knowledge and expertise in the Financial Planning sector.
- Proficiency in desktop applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with Intelliflo or similar back-office systems.
