At the heart of Hastings is deep risk insight – continually improving how we assess, segment and price risk through data and analytics.
We are entering a period where cars will develop faster in the next 10 years than they have in the past 50 years. This goes beyond their propulsion methods (EV development) and includes wider design, construction and technology developments. This is a new role focusing on building Hastings knowledge and understanding of these developments, and how they are interpreted into vehicle risk selection and the terms applied. The Vehicle Data Analyst role will play a part in the growing Vehicle Underwriting team at Hastings tasked with gaining a greater understanding of the rapidly changing vehicle industry and UK car parc. This knowledge will assist us set vehicle terms, excesses and other conditional acceptance rules.

You’ll collaborate with other areas of our department and company to bring a new source to life and will have the opportunity to own/share ideas to executive level to make real impactful changes. However far we delve into the data, we feel it’s important to keep sight of the bigger picture; we’re looking for people who are comfortable and confident with numerical and statistical information, that are able to explain what they are seeing with a range of detail to stakeholders. We want you to take the initiative, be accountable and honest for the approaches you take. If you’re interested in data & vehicles with the right mindset & curiosity, we want to hear from you!
