As a risk modeller within the Hastings lending business, you will be utilising cutting‑edge data assets and advanced modelling & analytical tools to shape and drive pricing & credit risk management strategies which improve business profitability and customer outcomes. You will be working closely with colleagues across the lending team to deliver data‑led solutions for strategic and tactical business opportunities and risks, and to gain competitive advantage in the marketplace. Your remit will be to continuously improve business profitability and customer outcomes, and you will do this by:
- Developing analytical and modelling solutions to identify and manage customer risk across our credit and pricing strategies.
- Driving data‑led automation across the credit lending journey.
- Maintaining a resilient portfolio risk mix to support long‑term growth.
- Building key performance indicators and customer segmentation monitoring, ensuring alignment with business trading targets and risk appetite thresholds.

Qualifications:
- Experience undertaking predictive modelling, utilising model types such as GLM and GMB.
- Strong Python/R and SQL coding capability.
- Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to present solutions and results clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Financial services product experience, particularly in a pricing and/or credit risk modelling capacity.
