Working as part of the Indemnity Team, you'll use your experience and expertise to identify and process 'contractual breach' customers to achieve the optimal claim outcomes. You'll do this by investigating a portfolio of these potential breaches, handling a portfolio of MIB claims, handling a small portfolio of Peril specific losses where required and ensuring that all claims are handled efficiently, fairly and in line with legal and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triaging new suspected contractual breach claims and assessing indemnity, investigating all appropriate enquiries and identifying opportunities for recovery from third parties or policyholders in breach of contract.
  • Using critical thinking to evaluate evidence supplied through the investigation process and then assess and make the decision as to whether to indemnify customers - communicating outcomes to customers and stakeholders with empathy, professionalism and sensitivity.
  • Handling a small portfolio of MIB claims to obtain the optimal financial outcome and protect against risk and a small amount of Peril specific losses as required by the department, depending on skills and experience.
  • Using predictive analytics and data to identify cohorts of riskier claims for pro‑active review, reviewing and considering referrals into the Indemnity Team from Peril areas to assess whether these are new leaders to pursue.
  • Managing a small caseload of technically complex motor claims involving indemnity or high value injury cases where experience allows and working in partnership with business areas.
  • Assisting with building the team from a process and best outcomes mentality, spotting and suggesting improvement opportunities and areas to collaborate further across the business.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in motor insurance claims handling, ideally with exposure to indemnity disputes.
  • Excellent knowledge of indemnity principles, including insurance contract, Road Traffic Act and MIB Articles of Association including Article 75.
  • Knowledge of handling MIB claims preferred (including rules and processes), complaints handling experience and knowledge of overall claims investigation processes including liaising with suppliers.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, able to speak to both stakeholders and customers in the right way.

Benefits:

  • Flexible working - we champion a flexible hybrid working approach.
  • Competitive bonus scheme - all colleagues are eligible for our annual 4Cs performance bonus.
  • Financial wellbeing - providing you with 4x your salary with our life assurance cover, income protection at no extra cost, and matched pension contributions up to 10%.
  • Mental wellbeing programme - including the thrive mental health app, our colleague assistance programme available 24/7, and support groups.
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell one of your weeks.
  • Access to health care cash back plans, dental plans, discounted health assessments, Cycle to work and tech schemes, and social events throughout the year.
