As one of the finest restaurants, Vespers is located in the luxurious settings of the five‑star Culloden Estate and Spa. Winner of Good Food Ireland’s Food Lover’s Choice Award 2024, Vespers offers a gastronomic journey through Northern Ireland’s finest produce. Under the direction of our talented culinary team, we source the finest local and seasonal produce to create an exquisite array of contemporary Irish dishes, each with a unique Vespers twist.

Supported by our Restaurant Manager, Robyn Cole, you will assist in providing day‑to‑day supervision of our food and beverage team. We want to help you to develop your skills and offer an extensive range of learning and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will have worked in a high‑quality hospitality environment and be able to support team members to achieve success whilst delivering an exceptional standard of service to our guests. You can expect to work 35 hours per week (excluding breaks), five shifts out of seven including weekends. As Restaurant Supervisor you will have a fully flexible approach as working patterns will include days, evenings, nights, and weekends as required.

This full‑time position offers a salary of up to £25,480 per annum. About The Role

  • To take responsibility for the effective supervision of the restaurant employees, to ensure an efficient operation and delivery of Hastings product and service standards.
  • To promote and contribute to a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
  • To ensure quality standards and procedures are fully understood and implemented, and daily checking procedures are fully applied.
  • To ensure company policies relating to cash handling, stock control and stock ordering are implemented and monitored.
  • To ensure all Restaurant employees receive the appropriate training and coaching to provide effective and efficient service in line with Hastings standards.
  • To ensure all restaurant employees work to trained standards, providing feedback to deliver effective and efficient service in line with Hastings standards.
  • To maintain effective communication and relationships with other hotel departments and suppliers to maintain an effective operation and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • To ensure the team are knowledgeable about the facilities and services within the hotel and are proactive in the sale of these to guests.
  • To ensure you and the team assist guests with any reasonable request for hotel services.
  • To ensure you and the team respond to complaints and find the appropriate solution.
  • To ensure the security of restaurant and storage areas is maintained at all times.
  • To ensure the restaurant areas, fixtures and equipment are properly maintained and presented to Hastings standards.
  • To ensure a safe environment is maintained in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation and company policies and procedures.
  • To ensure the hotel’s compliance with all matters relating to licensing laws, Customs and Excise Regulations and all other relevant legislation.
  • To act as Duty Manager when required and respond to guest enquiries or escalating where appropriate.
  • Any other duties as required by Management.

Required Criteria

  • Right to Work in the United Kingdom
  • Must have excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication and basic numeracy skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be a team player
  • A professional appearance
  • Previous Food & Beverage experience in a hospitality setting

Desired Criteria

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent with grades A‑C in English and Maths
  • Previous supervisory experience gained in a similar high‑quality establishment
  • Experience of fine‑dining
